Women
of the Earth
This series I have
been developing over the course of the last 20 years.
It was started with
an esoteric apprenticeship under the guidance of a renowned Cabbalist
and shaman in Santiago, Chile. This teacher, Pedro Engel (www.PedroEngel.cl)
encouraged me to draw and paint my own Tarot deck, based on our
studies and following the teaching style of Aleister Crowley.
The first sketches
resulted in the 20 major arcana of the Tarot and they were greatly
influenced by my findings of native Chilean indigenous spirituality
of the Mapuche people of Southern Chile.
The Mapuche are one
of the few surviving matriarchal cultures of ancient Mesoamerica.

The strong
womens spirituality symbols in my initial drawings called the attention
of Vicki Noble, (www.Motherpeace.com)
international teacher, author, and passionate feminist leader. I
was invited by Vicki to travel to California, and join her school
of Contemporary of Female Shamanism.
I arrived in California in 1989, and
settled. I began elaborate oil paintings based on the original drawings
I had designed along side Pedro, my first teacher.
In the last decade my interests took
me on the paths of Amazonian plant medicine work, as I was also
initiated in the sacred path of Tantra.
My recent paintings have picked up elements
from both of these practices, and they intertwine visions received
in ceremony together with my work as a tantrika and yogini. These
pieces can therefore be divided in two groups:
La Machi, Copihue, Nuke Mapu, The
Lovers are reminiscent of my studies of Tarot and Mapuche Cosmo
vision.
Moon Tears, Weñulfe,
Ayahuaska at the Gates of San Pedro, The Toad and Gaia are
more recent works inspired in Tantra and assisted by the divine
guidance of plant medicine.
