"Gaia Tree"

Gaia Tree was born from a vision during a full moon medicine ceremony deep in the rainforest, a night when all the beings and spirits of the jungle awakened and moved together as one living presence. At the heart of the painting, the great tree becomes the body of a lactating mother, nurturing the forest that gathers at her feet as she holds the sacred dancer's pose. She is Gaia herself, the Divine Mother, giving freely and endlessly of her abundance.

Engraved within her trunk is the HaMotzi, the Hebrew blessing traditionally spoken before breaking bread, giving thanks to the One who brings forth bread from the earth. And though the moon shines full and bright, every star has come alive across the sky, as if all of creation gathered to witness and to bless. Gaia Tree is an invitation to remember our belonging to the living earth, to receive her gifts with gratitude, and to move through the world in reverence and joy.
